How to Use PRD ENGINE

Requirements Tab

• Unique ID — A mandatory identifier (e.g., STRY-001, CHG-12345) that prefixes uploaded files and uniquely identifies this PRD. Auto-generated when navigating from the landing page.
• Upload PRD — Optional. Drag-and-drop or click to upload source documents and images (up to 10MB). Supports .docx, .md, .txt, .pdf, .xml, and images (.png, .jpg, .gif, .webp, .svg). Files are prefixed with the Unique ID.
• Context Notes — Required. Describe your requirements and any additional instructions the AI should consider during PRD generation. Notes are read at generation time, not upload time.
• Dictate — Use speech-to-text to dictate notes (Ctrl+Shift+M). Click again to stop.

Files Tab

• Search — Filter by Story ID, title, classification, or status
• Sort — Click any column header to sort ascending/descending
• Status Badges:
  • Complete — Both source file and generated PRD exist
  • Needs Prompt — Source uploaded, PRD not yet generated
  • Prompt Only — Generated PRD exists without source file
• Points — AI-estimated Fibonacci story points (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21). Auto-generated during PRD creation or click to estimate separately. Hover the badge for justification.
• Actions: Generate PRD, View Prompt, Download Source, Delete

Processing Summary Tab

• Shows all AI-generated PRDs with details: classification, line count, model used, and generation date
• Click to view the generated prompt in the viewer modal

Prompt Viewer

• Rendered / Raw — Toggle between formatted markdown and raw source
• Copy — Copy the raw markdown to clipboard
• Zoom — Adjust text size (−/+), or Reset to 100%
• Fullscreen — Expand the viewer to fill the screen

Sidebar

• AI Model — Select which AI model to use for generation and estimation (Claude, GPT, Gemini)
• Statistics — Live counts of total PRDs, complete, needs prompt, and prompt only

Pay-per-use pricing for this module (usage tier only):

• Trigger: Generate (single file or parallel batch — each file is one generation)
• Price: $8.00 per PRD generation
• Admin accounts are not charged.
