Overview

The Collaboration Hub enables teams to work together on ServiceNow development projects. Share code, send invitations, manage projects, and communicate in real-time.

  • Team Management: Invite and manage team members with role-based access
  • Project Sharing: Share ServiceNow projects and code with your team
  • Real-time Chat: Communicate with team members instantly
  • Activity Tracking: Monitor team activity and project updates

Inviting Team Members

Send email invitations to colleagues to join your team:

  1. Click the "Invite Member" button in Quick Actions
  2. Enter the recipient's email address
  3. Select a role: Developer, Admin, or Viewer
  4. Optionally add a personal message
  5. Click "Send Invite"

Note: Invitations are sent via email with a professional template. Recipients will receive a link to join your team.

Team Roles

Role Permissions
Developer Can view and contribute to projects, participate in chat
Admin Full access to all team features, can invite/remove members
Viewer Read-only access to projects and activity

Rate Limits

Email invitations are subject to rate limiting to prevent abuse:

  • 10 invitations per hour per user
  • Rate limits reset automatically after the time window
  • Enterprise and Admin tiers have higher limits

Subscription Requirements

Collaboration Hub is available on all subscription plans:

  • Free: Basic collaboration features
  • Starter: Enhanced team features
  • Professional: Full access to all features
  • Enterprise: Full access with priority support
  • Admin: Unlimited access

All users can create teams, invite members, and collaborate in real-time.

Projects

Click on a project card to open the project detail view with:

  • Backlog: View and manage unassigned tasks
  • Sprint Board: Kanban board for the active sprint

Sprints

Manage 2-week sprint cycles:

  1. Click "New Sprint" to create a sprint
  2. Set the sprint name, goal, and date range
  3. Move tasks from backlog to the sprint
  4. Start the sprint when ready
  5. Complete the sprint when finished

Tasks

Create and manage work items:

  • Types: Story, Task, Bug, Epic
  • Priorities: Low, Medium, High, Critical
  • Story Points: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13
  • Status: Backlog, Todo, In Progress, Review, Done
